Teeth of a Snail is an age-old story, that of a man who has lost his friend, subtly echoing that of a Gilgamesh and Enkidu. It encompasses the tragic and the beautiful along with the love for our fellow man. Amakeze's prose strikes an intimate chord as it brings up questions about who we are and what purpose we serve in life. It makes us wonder how our lives would be if we knew the answers beforehand if only the gods spoke. Teeth of a Snail tells the tale of Udechukwu and Nkasiobi, two adventurous lads, and of the consequences of breaking conventions in a traditional Igbo setting.
