Storm Across the Sahel is a collection of 13 short stories portraying in the new social, economic, and political structure created by the Boko Haram insurgency in Borno, Yobe, and other parts of Northeastern Nigeria. Set mainly in Gombe, the collection explores psychosocial issues such as anxiety, fear, uncertainty, loss, grief, memory, love, trust, infidelity, drug abuse, post-partum anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and the choice, decision, and indecision of victims of violence and exploitation in the process of recovery, redemption, and self-fulfillment.
