Teenagers and adolescents are easily victims of negative manipulations and exploitations. Growing up today in very harsh and cruel circumstances exposes them to many types of temptations without adequate parental supervision. Broken Reed paints a picture of the experiences of a girl-child who suffers abuse in the hands of adult males. By exposing the innocence and dilemma of teenagers and adolescents, the play further illustrates how youthful decadence erodes the fabric of our youth.
