DOUBLE ATTACK A NIGERIAN CIVIL WAR SITUATION Comments by B. Please write out the text I like it because of the good use of language, its great sense of humour and its fearlessness and objectivity in handling a delicate social problem like corruption in the Nigerian Civil War. It is hilariously funny. - Martin Esslin. It is really good to see the corruption which accompanies every kind of civil upheaval, but is particularly prominent in a war in which there is so much rush, so much pace, and so much energy and emergency that quite a lot of wealth disappears in the wrong places. It is a real farce but at the same time a strong and scathing social commentary. GHOSTS IN THE MORTUARY A NIGERIAN CIVIL WAR SITUATION Wole Soyinka. The Nigerian Civil War provides a very fertile ground for the entrenching of corruption into almost all the activities of the people. In the minds of the people survival is first and foremost before any other consideration. The hospital in this play is a fake hospital, the doctor is fake, the nurses and other staff are unqualified but the patients are real patients, ignorant of the quality of the hospital. The situation examined in the play is typical with civil war situations all over the world.
