Description

Shadows of the River Nun is the story of Isonibiri town, a once peaceful agrarian settlement in Niger Delta, until the wake of the oil explorers. Dudiagha had a foresight and wanted his son to have a university education, so that he would be employed in the oil company. Don Raymond, the hope of his parents and a cynosure of the youths, took to drug abuse and cultism which ruined his university education, and his subsequent involvement in the communal politics led to the dethronement of the ruler, with the use of the gun. The devil's protective powers, brought untold hardship and tragedy to the entire community. An artistic creation, an indictment of the Niger Delta contemporary novelistic agenda; youths restiveness, HIV and AIDS, environmental degradation, oil pollution, drug abuse, cultism, hostage taking, and greed which have been the tragedy enslaving the Niger Delta Region in Nigeria.
