Jagun has been fated to be mother of an only son, She prays to all powers that she believes in, that she should carry a grand-child before she joins her ancestors; but Tayo-the only instrument through whom the dream can come true-too pre-occupied with worries and thoughts of his career and future, aims at life of celibacy. Each of mother and son is bent on their dogma, even at the risk of paying the supreme sacrifices; and so the fate of Lenuse swings unpredictably and precociously between the extremes of desire and disdain. It is a story with simplicity-a simplicity in which is built all the intricacies and complexities that dramas of the human race are made of.
