Description
The Living Oracle depicts a common way of life in a polygamous family. The main actors Adukwu and his wife, Ojoma represents the kind of relationship that exists between the menfolk and womenfolk in a marriage setting of a typical African family. The culture and tradition of the Ette people are infocus, bringing out the rich heritage of the community. Each of the main actors receives a dose of prices for their actions and inations. The loquacious Ojoma goes on exile for three years for challenging the authority of Adukwu. Adukwuis not left out , his life is propelled by a supernatural power, as later revealed by Onoja the dibia. This leads him to commit two major blunders-divorcing his wife and attempting to murder Eje Okwutar, his son in-law The supernatural inclination of the people centers on the traditional religion existing side by side with the Christian religion, Little does one know that obscure appearance of Ochalefu in the scene, a young apprentice under the tutelage of Onoja, will later affirm the superiority and , indeed, the supremacy of the Christian religion over the traditional faith and redefine the direction of the community.
